Huawei

The hidden infrastructure powering Ukraine’s resilience

Motion, Video Design

2024

When communication becomes a lifeline, the unseen backbone of the network is everything. Huawei Ukraine needed to be seen beyond consumer devices: as a company whose telecom infrastructure has helped keep people, cities, and services connected for 25 years.

The project carried a difficult communication task. In Ukraine’s wartime and geopolitical context, trust could not be assumed, and any corporate message risked feeling detached or tone-deaf. The story had to be grounded in real infrastructure value, not brand optimism.

Working closely with the Creative Director, I helped shape the visual rhythm of a 14-minute NDA-protected B2B video. For the portfolio, I can only show a shortened excerpt, so the case study focuses on the strategic and visual development behind the piece: documentary interviews, technical proof points, data, kinetic typography, and Huawei’s brand system.

Challenges

01

Rebuilding the Frame Around Huawei

The business challenge was to move perception away from Huawei as primarily a device manufacturer and toward its role as a telecom infrastructure partner. The story needed to make an invisible B2B contribution feel concrete and relevant.

02

Communicating in Sensitive Market

The Ukrainian context made trust fragile. The story should communicate humanity, clarity, and respect with enough proof to feel honest, and enough design structure to connect personal stories with the technical reality behind them.

03

Making B2B Storytelling Engaging

The film had to carry a broad enterprise story across infrastructure, history, social impact, sustainability, and education, along with many milestones, statistics, and technical proof points. The challenge was to keep a 14-minute B2B video clear, engaging, and emotionally grounded without flattening the strategic message, while also making it flexible enough to be edited into separate shorter videos for external communication.
